PreCrisis is being designed to support reflection, continuity, and connection across faith, spiritual practice, doubt, and no religion. Each person chooses whether spiritual care belongs in their support plan, which beliefs or nonbeliefs shape it, and which tradition or worldview guides it.

02 // ROLE BEFORE RECORD Know who is helping

Know the role before you share.

Spiritual care and religious counseling can complement licensed mental-health care. Licensed clinicians provide psychotherapy, clinical assessment, diagnosis, and emergency care within their credentials and setting.

Role + credentials

Exact title, training, credential, issuing body, and licensing jurisdiction when applicable.

Tradition + approach

Faith, denomination, lineage, worldview, or practice orientation, with each tradition presented in its own context.

Services + referral

The provider’s offered services, scope of practice, and criteria for referral to clinical or crisis care.

Confidentiality + records

What is private, what may be documented, who may access it, and which exceptions apply in that setting.

Sponsor access

Whether an employer, congregation, command, hospital, school, or other sponsor receives any information.

Emergency route

Mandatory-reporting duties, urgent-support route, referral path, and the qualified role that responds as needs change.

SHARED RESPONSIBILITY // EVERY PATHWAY

Spiritual and clinical care retain distinct roles.

Separately licensed providers offer clinical services within their license and authorized jurisdiction. With the person’s consent, a spiritual caregiver may join the care network and receive the minimum information needed for the agreed role. Private session content stays with the person and authorized caregiver; sponsor access follows explicit consent and applicable policy or law.
